Non-Peruvian Stones
If you look for somebody to cut your rough rock in decor objects like spheres, towers, hearts, palmstones, or any other product, you are in luck. You can ship your rough rock to Peru and enjoy our maximum efficiency cutting. After producing your primary objects, we offer to cut smaller objects (like cabochons) from your cutting scraps. We can even set them in silver and produce finished jewelry for you. With Gemrock, you get the most out of your rough rock.
Personalized sizes & shapes
If you require sizes and shapes from our Peruvian crystals or from your own rough rock that differ from our standardized shapes and sizes, we are happy to attend to you with personalized cutting.
Accessories
If you need gemstone accessories for your products, for example, crystals being set into your doorknobs, crystal parts on kitchenware, buttons for fashion clothing, or any other accessory for your product, we are happy to attend to your requirements with our own Peruvian materials. If you require those accessories from other stones, you can either send us your rough rock, or we can source this material for you globally.

1. Consultation
We discuss your vision, assess the rough material, and provide expert recommendations. We have developed Gemstone Quality Standards for all our Peruvian materials.
2. Design & Planning
Our team creates a detailed plan to maximize the number of cabochons to be cut from your rough rock and/or to maximize the gemstones beauty and value.
3. Top-quality Materials
If you require cabochons from peruvian materials we can provide you with a huge stock of top-jewelry grade materials that have been collected and stocked over the course of 7 years.
4. Precision Cutting
Using state-of-the-art equipment, we bring your gemstone to life with expert craftsmanship. Our Cabochon Cutting-Quality Standart ensures premium-cutting Quality.
5. Polishing
We polish our cabochons meticulously to achieve maximum shine and a glass-like finish wherever possible. At our cutting facility, we constantly investigate and try new techniques in order to keep improving.

Gemstone Cutting Expertise
Stefan Austermühle is not only the CEO of Gemrock, but also our Master Gemcutter, Gemstone Cutting Expert, and Product designer. Stefan laid the groundwork for his lapidary art by getting trained by old-school US-based master cabochon cutters. He always attends our Lapidary Cutting-Service Clients personally and supports their product development with expert advice based on his extensive cutting experience with many Peruvian and other materials from around the world. He often still takes the time to cut the unusual shapes or rare materials himself. He is also responsible for training and knowledge transfer to our in-house gemcutters and for production oversight and quality control.

You can choose freely between these four different types of cabochons:
Straight vertical bezel, high dome (aprox 1-2 times bezel heigth)
Straight vertical bezel, very high dome (approx 3-4 times bezel heigth)
Straight vertical bezel, extremly high dome (approx 4-5 times bezel heigth)
No bezel, very high dome
Quality level:
- Perfect dome shape without flat areas of edges.
- Dome polished to 3000 grit.
- Bezel polished to 600 grit.
- Backside polished to 280 grit.
- The bezel is absolutely straight without any variations in height.
- Sharp, flawless dome edge.
- Sharp backside edge, minor flaws may occur.
